MedAssets and AAHSA to Establish Largest Buying Group for Not-For-Profit Long Term Care Providers
Atlanta, Georgia

MedAssets, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDAS) and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) announced today their agreement to align AAHSA’s Group Purchasing program with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems starting in February 2008.

Through the agreement, AAHSA and MedAssets Supply Chain Systems will establish the largest buying group for not-for-profit organizations that provide long-term care (LTC) services.  AAHSA’s 5,800 members will have access to more than 400 MedAssets vendor contracts, and will be offered significant savings on an enhanced selection of products and services that can be viewed using MedAssets’ online contract catalog, CDQuick®.  AAHSA members enrolled in the Group Purchasing program can immediately begin using MedAssets’ contracted pricing to receive product/service discounts. All AAHSA members can join the program for free.

“As not-for-profit organizations, our mission-driven members are committed to using their resources to benefit the people they serve,” said Larry Minnix, president and chief executive officer, AAHSA. “Our relationship with MedAssets is an important step in helping them achieve this goal at a price they can afford.”

“Not-for-profit organizations can now access increased purchasing power in long-term care,” said Maureen Gender, president of the spend management segment, MedAssets, Inc.  “Working with AAHSA gives us the opportunity to offer these organizations the savings and solutions they need to meet their goals while expanding our own presence in the LTC market segment.”

MedAssets’ long-term care contracts includes options to purchase food, medical supplies, diagnostics, maintenance and housekeeping supplies, facility operations and construction equipment and furniture. AAHSA members can access purchasing contracts through MedAssets’ CDQuick online contract catalog which enables more effective supply chain management by allowing measurement of contract and price compliance and identification of savings opportunities.
